EMBASSY OF BOTSWANA IN WASHINGTON D.C, USA

The Botswana Embassy in Washington D.C. is the official representative of the Government and People of the Republic of Botswana in the United States of America. The Embassy is accredited to twelve (12) countries in northern America and the Caribbean, including the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Grenada, Haiti, Antigua, Barbuda, Dominican Republic, and Grenada – as well as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.

The Embassy exists to advance Botswana’s national interests spanning trade, investment, tourism, natural resources, education, health, defense, the arts, youth empowerment, science, and technology. The Embassy also serves to provide consular and information services with professional excellence and the highest standards of ethical conduct and diplomatic discretion. Opened in 1967, and located in the Dupont Circle Historic District, the Embassy has been instrumental in the establishment of diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation between Botswana and countries in Northern America and the Caribbean. The bilateral relationships are strong, underpinned by shared values and principles of democracy, good governance, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.
